AWH Established around 1900, the company has produced varieties from stainless steel for decades.
Like in the great majority of the businesses of the new Laender of Germany, after privatisation in 1991 the regular staff was reduced by a factor of seven. Given substantial restructuring in both production and products, the trend has been reversed since 1995. This is exemplified by a workforce increase of more than 80 percent. Moreover, training is ranking high in Hötensleben. Trainees account for 15% of the workforce; this is considered an essential backbone of future operative capability and competitiveness. At the same time, turnover was experienced to increase by a factor of nearly two. This growth rate enables more than 10% of annual turnover to be invested. An extremely wide range of materials is being worked in the shops, typically including 1.4301; 1.4307; 1.4404; 1.4571, and 1.4435 in compliance with Basler Norm (BN2). The current figure of resultant stainless-steel swarf totals approximately 50 tonnes. Swarf is collected in an unmixed approach, and recycled.
Improvement of the surface finishes so obtained goes without saying, including electropolishing, manual and automatic polishing, wet vibratory finishing and glass-bead blasting, and K400 grinding on pipe and tube. Subsequently, most of the products are cleaned in an ultrasonic washing machine. In addition to some 35,000 different items of the standard range produced, there are customised jobs accomplished to clients' drawings, e.g. coupling panels, air-filter housings, or shop pre-assembly of tubing and piping. Checks, tests, inspection and verification as required are performed and documented in the quality control department. Items produced are appropriately marked/identified as needed (also as per clients' specifications), and packaged so that gentle handling and transportation are ensured.
AWH work stainless steel to meet an extremely broad range of specifications and requirements, adopting the latest processes and methods such that most stringent quality standards are satisfied. AWH, being a member of the NEUMO-EHRENBERG GROUP, provide the correct solution to cope with your demands - in all spheres of stainless steel. |
